Sabine has over 25 years in the field of nutrition. Her passion is giving patients the tools to promote optimal health and performance and assisting patients to self-discover how to feel better. Sabine's experience is vast and diverse which has brought her to a place where she brings the nutrition component to a Total Body Experience, connecting the Mind and Body to achieve health and wellness. She is a true Integrative Nutritionist.
Sabine's career has taken her to different places, starting her career as a Registered Dietitian, working at North Adams Regional Hospital in the Berkshires as a Clinical Dietitian, Clinical Nutrition Manager, and Food Service Manager, then moving to the greater Boston area working at Mount Auburn Hospital, a Harvard Teaching Hospital in Cambridge, MA as the Clinical Nutrition Manager and Dietetic Internship Director. In these years, she worked for the largest worldwide company, Sodexho that provides food and clinical services to healthcare organizations. Over the years she has had numerous professional accomplishments; while working for Sodexho she was awarded the "In the News" award as well as being nominated for the "Dietitian of the Year" award and the "Great Ideas" award.
Sabine has been a teacher and educator in diverse settings. Over the past 20 plus years of her career she has developed and taught many classes and programs with diverse audiences including physicians, nursing students, dietitians, Olympic athletes, and patients looking for nutrition information on a variety of topics. In addition, she was the Dietetic Internship Director at Mount Auburn Hospital mentoring, teaching, and leading the dietetic internship program, she also taught the Nutrition Class at North Country Community College, as well as developing nutrition programs for athletes at Northwood School and National Sports Academy.
After Sabine completed her Master of Science, this fueled her passion for alternative and complementary medicine and beginning her interest and practice in Functional Nutrition. She has had a diverse career but her interest in Sports Nutrition and Integrative and Functional Medicine have been the forefront of her Private Practice. Sabine opened Adirondack Nutrition Consulting in 1999 and opened Bean's Goods Natural Food Store in 2003, which has proven to be the only lasting health food store in Lake Placid. She created this with her own vision and passion. She managed the day to day operation of Bean's Goods, all while practicing as a Dietitian and Nutritionist, continuing her private practice and working in area hospitals, nursing homes, and health agencies. Then she sold Bean's Goods in 2007 and it now operates as Green Goddess Foods.
Sabine now focuses solely on her passion to help people and animals be healthy and happy. She has spent years of additional training to master her skills. She has completed training and obtained a Certificate in Weight Management from the American Dietetic Association, followed by designing her own class in weight management and integrative nutrition called "It's a New World". Over the years she has been trained by many of the "pioneers" in Functional Medicine including Jeff Bland, Sheri Lieberman, Robert Crayon from Crayon Research, Designs for Health, Kathie Madonna Swift, and Mark Hyman to name a few. She has completed training in Food as Medicine by the Center of Mind Body Medicine, Applying Functional Nutrition in Chronic Disease Prevention by the Institute of Functional Medicine, and Mind Body Medicine by the Center for Mind Body Medicine. Most recently completed her a Certification Program and has become a Food & Spirit Certified Professional™, Food & Spirit was developed by another great in the world of Functional Medicine- Dr. Deanna Minich as a full-spectrum approach to whole-self health. She has just completed a year long training IFNA™ Certificate of Training (COT) by The Integrative and Functional Nutrition Academy™ and is also working towards her certification in Mind Body Medicine. These are all important for her Wholistic approach in private practice.
Sabine continues to operate her private nutrition counseling practice with her primary goal is to help patients feel better.
